Michelle Is More Than Support For Women

Sunday, November 16th, 2008

If you ever get a chance to hear Michelle Mone speak – grab it. The woman is an inspiration to anyone. I had the chance to hear Michelle as an after dinner speaker at Ruthin Castle in North Wales last week. Michelle is the founder of MJM International and inventor of the Ultimo Bra. As well as being a brilliant entrepreneur, Michelle is one of the most gifted and real people you could ever meet. Her story (so far to the age of 36) is an inspiration. If she ever writes her autobiography it will be a best seller – guaranteed. Who else could think about using actors dressed as plastic surgeons to boycott their own product launch at Selfridges. She is a master of promotion – both for her business and herself and  uses these skills to support others through The Princes Trust. A true gem and wonder in this world.

Yes We Can – President Elect Obama!

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

Well the boy done good! I cannot recall such a fascinating election and just finished listening to President Elect Obama’s victory speach in Chicago. I am sure it will go down in history as the ‘Yes We Can’ statement of all time. It is time for change in the world and it looks like Obama will be the one around which it will become polarised. You have just got to admire the positive approach and the way he has connected people from all demographics. No other modern politician has acheived so much in so short a space of time. David Cameron must be anticipating the next UK general election with fervour and will expect the UK people to show the same determination to bring about change. Yes we can – it something we get to say everyday at the Redbows Promotional Gifts Store!

Network She – Networking For Women

Saturday, November 1st, 2008

I came across the Network She website the other day – a website and community exclusively for women in business. With the UK economy feeling the impact of poor banking decisions and easy credit facilities, we really do need to support the development of a new generation of businesses. I anticipate that a large share of these will be started by women in their homes who will seize the opportunities afforded by technology and the internet. All it takes is a good idea and the determination to go for it. Starting any business, even one selling promotional gifts is never easy but organisations like Network She are there to help, provide support and contacts.
